Last week we talked about how our kids sometimes need help staying engaged, and how taking notes can be a valuable way to keep them from daydreaming. We even introduced our Tinkerchalk Notes Template, hoping it would be a tool for both you and your little learners.
But here’s the thing: sometimes the idea of staring at a big, blank block of space to draw or write can feel overwhelming to a child. If your learner freezes at that blank square, don’t worry—we have a solution.

Did You Say Stickers?
Yes! If your child isn’t the next Norman Rockwell, then stickers can be a fantastic alternative. We’ve found them especially helpful in faster-paced lessons when there isn’t enough time to create a detailed drawing.
Kids love stickers, and when learning is fun, they’ll love learning too.
A New Template
Since most stickers don’t fit well in large open blocks, we created a new template with smaller spaces, perfect for adding stickers instead of drawings. This gives kids structure without pressure, while still letting them express themselves visually.
Choosing the Right Stickers
“But what stickers should I get?” you might be wondering.
Start with your child’s interests:
- Nature lovers? Try animal or plant stickers.
- Movie fans? Go with character stickers from their favorite shows.
- Creative kids? Choose themed sets that include symbols, speech bubbles, or props.
Here are a few fun recommendations we’ve tried and loved:
Stickerland
Stickerland packs often feature PAW Patrol, Bluey, Stitch, and Despicable Me 4. They include both normal-size stickers and lots of small shapes that fit perfectly into notes. The PAW Patrol set is especially popular—it even comes with numbers!
Trends Stickers
These small stickers often follow movies like Inside Out 2, The Lion King, PAW Patrol, Bluey, and Sonic the Hedgehog 3. Just be mindful—some sets have darker themes, so always check before handing them over.
Dog Man Sticker Book
A favorite in our homeschool! This book is full of Dog Man characters, props, and even speech bubbles. One student even used the “angry character” sticker during a history lesson on communism. That’s creative engagement at its finest!
Gabby’s Dollhouse Sticker Book
This isn’t a full book like Dog Man but a small sticker pad with puffy stickers. With the new Gabby’s Dollhouse film coming out, kids love these. The stars, cupcakes, cat music signs, and paws also work great for bullet points.
