Day 5: Step-by-Step Cat Pumpkin (Gabby’s Dollhouse–Inspired!)

Part of Tinkerchalk‘s 31 Days of Zero-Spook Fall Fun

Today we’re drawing the cutest little cat-pumpkin—purr-fect for fans of Gabby’s Dollhouse The Movie! Think of it as a pumpkin pal that could sit right next to Gabby and the Gabby Cats on their next big adventure. Ready? Grab a pencil, paper, and something to color with!

What you’ll need

  • Paper
  • Pencil & eraser
  • Black marker (optional for outlining)
  • Crayons/colored pencils/markers (orange, green, pink, black)

Step-by-Step Drawing

  1. Pumpkin Shape
Draw a chubby oval in the middle of your page. This is your pumpkin’s base.
  2. Pumpkin Ridges
Add two curved lines inside the oval—one on the left and one on the right—to show the pumpkin’s sections. (They should follow the curve of the oval, like gentle parentheses.)
  3. More Ridges (Optional)
If you want extra detail, add one more curved line on each side so your pumpkin looks extra plump.
  4. Cat Ears
On top of the oval, draw two triangles with soft corners for ears. Make them slightly tilted for extra cuteness.
  5. Stem & Leaf
In between the ears, add a short curvy stem. Draw a tiny leaf or a curly vine if you’d like.
  6. Cat Face
    • Two round eyes (leave a small white circle for sparkle!)
    • A tiny triangle nose
    • A sweet “3” shaped mouth or two curved lines
    • Add whiskers on both sides
  7. Ink It (Optional)
Trace your favorite lines with a black marker. Erase the extra pencil lines.
  8. Color Time!
    • Pumpkin: orange (try shading the edges a bit darker)
    • Stem: green
    • Inner ears & cheeks: a soft pink
    • Eyes & whiskers: black (add a white highlight for shine)

Make it Gabby’s Dollhouse The Movie–Style!

Give your cat-pumpkin a Gabby Cat makeover:

  • Pandy Paws: add panda patches and a heart nose.
  • DJ Catnip: draw tiny headphones around the ears.
  • Cakey Cat: add a mini chef hat and sprinkle dots.
  • MerCat: a little star by one ear and a shimmery teal bow.
  • Kitty Fairy: draw a flower crown and a sparkly leaf wand.

Ask: Which Gabby Cat would your pumpkin be in the movie? Name it and give it a super power!

Easy Learning Tie-Ins

  • Math: Count the pumpkin ridges; make patterns with stripes and dots.
  • Writing: One-sentence story: “My cat-pumpkin helps Gabby by…”.
  • Art: Practice light vs. dark orange to show shading.

📸 Show & Tell: Pop your finished cat-pumpkin into a “Dollhouse Gallery”—a wall space or binder page for your art from the series. Meow-velous work!
